Three of these eyesores went up over the Port of Providence sometime last fall. They have never been used, and there is some question now as to whether they ever will be. Several communities and several schools and businesses in the states had installed their own windmills over course of the last few years. One by one, they are being discontinued, however. As they discovered, the cost of maintaining the windmills exceeded the cost savings from the power being generated. It may well be due to individual companies and schools trying to handle the cost alone, but it's interesting that they are not proving cost effective.
Post processing started with a low key filter in Topaz b&w Effects. From there I adjusted the adaptive exposure, boost black, boost white, and contrast sliders. I adjusted color sensitivity, and then went into Neat Image to reduce the noise created by the processing. In PSE I added a levels adjustment and a sepia photo filter.
