Election 2012

We have finally reached the final day of non-stop robo-calls with an "urgent message from..." I went to may assigned polling place about 9:00 AM. (Polls in Rhode Island open at 7:00.) Turnout was extremely light, which is typical of this district. It's a blue collar neighborhood, so voting here is heaviest in the early evening. There was the usual cadre of folks getting in some last minute campaigning right outside the entrance to the school. That they all consented to be photographed shouldn't come as a shock to anyone! Results in this precinct are very predictable, though, so very few politicians actually show up here. Gina Raimondo, at far left, is running for school committee, and she was the only actual candidate here. This district is overwhelmingly Democrat and many of the local races are unopposed. Win the primary, you win the general election by default. For someone like me - one of only a handful of registered Republicans in this district - voting is a futile formality. At least tomorrow the robo-calls will stop.

Post processing started with a brilliant warm filter in Topaz Adjust. I then adjusted adaptive exposure and protect shadows sliders. A slight levels adjustment was added in PSE.
