I normally avoid "postcard scenes" simply because they really don't match my style of photography. I could not pass this one up, however. I decided to take my "Nifty Fifty" - my 50mm f/1.2 - for a stroll through Roger Williams Park this afternoon. I've been neglecting that lens a bit too much, and it's high time I brought it back to the forefront. The reflections in front of this steel bridge across from the Carousel Park made an ideal subject. It did involve trudging down a hill in snow to get to the water's edge, but the wet sneakers were worth it in the end.
Post processing started with a brilliant warm filter in Topaz Adjust. I then adjusted adaptive exposure, contrast, and protect highlights. A slight mid-tones levels adjustment was made in PSE.
@tigerdreamer It really depends on what you want to do and how much you want to spend. I have Elements v10, and 3 plug-ins: Neat Image (that reduces noise), Topaz Adjust, and Topaz B&W FX. I've yet to be able to justify the cost of full PS.
