The historic Slater Mill in Pawtucket plays host to the Rhode Island Weavers Guild on the second Saturday of each month. Dave, seen in this photo, is a master weaver with the guild. Here, he demonstrates cotton preparation prior to spinning the strands into yarn suitable for spinning. The group often provides demonstrations at historic sites throughout the state, including the Hearthside in Lincoln, Smith-Appleby House, and Smith's Castle, one of the oldest buildings in the state.
Post processing started with a low contrast detailed filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders and then adjusted adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, protect highlights, boost black, and boost white. A sepia photo filter was added in PSE.
