Instructor to the Rescue

I'm still learning the nuances of my new 100mm, so I headed to India Point Park at lunch intending to do a bit of street photography. The tight concentration of sailboats, though, coupled with this instructor racing to the rescue of a novice unable to tack was too good of a photo opportunity to pass up. The angle of view afforded by the 100mm was perfect for the shot, and I'm pleased with the performance at a slightly wider aperture - f/5.6 - than I normally shoot for this type of scene. I can see why it's one of Canon's most popular prime lenses.

Post processing started with a brilliant cold filter in Topaz Adjust. I then adjusted adaptive exposure, regions, and contrast. A slight levels adjustment was added in PSE.

Here's the high res version in Smugmug: http://kannafoot.smugmug.com/Photo-Challenges/PAD2013/i-7XZ7xtV/0/XL/2013%2007%2001_0027%20copy-XL.jpg
