Buoy Inspection by kannafoot

Buoy Inspection

The weather was a bit more pleasant this morning when I went downcity for some street photography. Walking along the Waterfront, I spotted these two boaters inspecting the Waterfire buoys in preparation for this weekend's lighting. Despite threats of cancellations due to the sequester, Waterfire has maintained a full schedule through this summer season. The sequester comes into play since the Fox Point Hurricane Barrier is used to control the height of the water in the river. Fortunately, none of these popular events have been canceled to date.

Post processing started with a classic filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, boost black, boost white, and protect highlights. A levels adjustment, some selective 7% dodge, and a sepia photo filter were added in PSE.

Here's the high res version in Smugmug: http://kannafoot.smugmug.com/Photo-Challenges/PAD2013/i-FxGtKT7/0/XL/2013%2007%2012_0024%20copy-XL.jpg
