Sidewalk Masonry by kannafoot

Sidewalk Masonry

Once again I headed downcity for some street photography at lunch. I have a loop that's about 3/4 of a mile that I walk on most of my sessions there, so most of the street photography photos I post are from that small area. There's almost always something interesting to capture, though. In today's case, this mason was doing some repair work on the brick sidewalk near the Memorial Park on South Main Street. The trees planted in this section are starting to take their toll as the root systems spread out and cause cracks and bulges in the sidewalk. It's a pretty area, but the maintenance is high.

Post processing started with a classic filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, boost black, boost white, and contrast. A levels adjustment and a sepia photo filter were added in PSE.

Here's the high res version in Smugmug: http://kannafoot.smugmug.com/Photo-Challenges/PAD2013/i-HGPM8hk/0/XL/2013%2008%2008_0013%20copy-XL.jpg
