Dock to Nowhere by kannafoot

Dock to Nowhere

Today was my first day back to work after a 10-day vacation, and naturally my schedule has been completely booked with meetings. As a result, my time to get a good photo was extremely limited. My plan was to stop at Notte Park and get a photo of the bridge and cascades running out of the park. Much to my surprise - and dismay - the water level was extremely low and there was no flow over the dam. This, of course, means there were no cascades to photograph. Fortunately, there was this very interesting dock along the shore that went absolutely no place. Oh, it does land on shore, but not in a position where anything other than a canoe or kayak could reach it. I'm not sure what purpose the dock serves. I'm going to consider this the North Providence "Dock to Nowhere."

Post processing started with a brilliant warm filter in Topaz Adjust. I then adjusted adaptive exposure, and contrast. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.

Here's the high res version in Smugmug: http://kannafoot.smugmug.com/Photo-Challenges/PAD2013/i-9MhpQt9/0/XL/2013%2009%2010_0005%202%20copy-XL.jpg
I think it's a great shot...I love the ripples in the water!
