Motorless Motorboat by kannafoot

Motorless Motorboat

I had very little time at lunch to take a photo, so I headed to one of my "safety shot" locations near work knowing there would be something of interest there. I wasn't disappointed. This motorboat sans motor was nestled against a wooden dock at Bold Point. There was nobody around while I was there, and it doesn't seem practical to tie up a boat and take the motor with you, so I can only speculate as to why this boat was in this spot in this condition. There are no boats moored off this point, so it's not like anyone would be using it as a makeshift rowboat to get to their yacht. Your guess is as good as mine as to what it's used for now.

Post processing started with a classic filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, protect highlights, contrast, boost black, and boost white. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.

Here's the high res version in Smugmug: http://kannafoot.smugmug.com/Photo-Challenges/PAD2013/i-FTz9TTg/0/XL/2013%2010%2023_0003%20copy-XL.jpg

@tinapeterson Thank you, Tina. I'm thinking of doing my entire 2014 project in B&W.
