I stopped along the Providence Waterfront this morning on my way into work since I knew getting a photo at lunch would be impossible. It was raining through most of my drive, but unfortunately, the rain stopped just before I arrived at this spot. I was really hoping for a rainy street photography scene, but had to make due with only a wet sidewalk.
The morning light worked really well on the Providence skyline, so I positioned myself along the river with the skyline as the background for my photo. From there it was a waiting game, and thanks to the wet weather, it turned into a long waiting game. It was almost twenty minutes before this gentleman walked into my scene. Fortunately, he was doing something I'd count as interesting - walking his bicycle on his way to work.
Post processing started with a classic filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, protect highlights, boost black, and the color sensitivity sliders. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.
Yup, I'd count it as interesting if I saw someone walking their bicycle instead of riding it! (I wonder why? I mean, even if it's raining, you can wear rain gear.) Nice capture of the Providence skyline. I always appreciate your details explanation of your processing!
