Shadows

We had a light dusting of snow overnight. Less than an inch fell, but it was enough to not only slow the morning commute to a crawl, but also to leave a very nice white blanket on just about everything outdoors. Now, I had no desire to take another dip in the Bullocks Cove, so I stuck to dry land for today's photo. My plan was to stop at the East Bay Bike Path in Riverside and see if there were any people enjoying the snow-covered path. The fallback plan was to get a photo of the vending machine and graffiti you see in the background here. When I got out of the car, though, I noticed these amazing shadows from the posts and trees. That scene quickly became the primary photo and not the safety shot. I doubt it would have worked without the blanket of snow, so it was an opportunity not to be missed.
Post processing started with a classic filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, boost black, and boost white. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.
