Guard Shack

This little guard shack sits that the entrance to Lincoln Woods State Park. You've seen a number of photos from this park over the last three years, but I've been saving this scene as a "safety shot" for a day when I was really pressed for time. That was today. I had all of about 10 minutes to grab a photo on my way to Cranston for a meeting, so I took the opportunity to swing by Lincoln Woods for this photo.
Post processing started with a classic filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, boost black, and boost white. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.
My son has logged many a day in shacks like that working for the National Park Service. He says it's really quite pleasant work because people are so excited to enter. It looks like your expected snow hasn't hit yet.
@cejaanderson Fortunately, our snow went out to see,so we ended up with nothing. Very high winds, but that's it. I do envy your son working the NPS. Canyonlands is an absolutely beautiful area. So's nearby Arches. If there's one place everyone should see in their lifetime, it's the area around Moab.
