Northeast Regional at Dusk

Providence, Rhode Island
It was a meeting filled day today so I wasn't able to get out for my photo until after dinner. With the sun setting, I went downcity with the thought of getting some street photos as the city lights came on. The western sky still had a bright glow when the lights beneath the State House dome flickered to life. A loud horn blast signaled the imminent departure of Amtrak's Northeast Regional from Providence Station northbound for Boston, so I decided to setup in this location and wait. Finally, the regional came ambling through and I captured the train as it passed in front of the State House.
Post processing started with a classic filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, boost black, and protect highlights. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.
