Providence, Rhode Island

A friend of mine owns and operates Rah-Coco's Collectibles in Providence. This was my first visit to the store, and I was amazed at the variety of stock he has on hand. Comic books are front-and-center, naturally, but as the name implies, he provides a wide range of other collectable items from action figures, to collectible cards (like Magic, and Lord of the Rings), to fantasy and comic related books. I'll have to return on "Free Comic Book Saturday" for another photo, assuming there will be room for me to stand during such a popular event.

Post processing started with a classic filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, boost black, boost white, and protect highlights. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.

Here's the high res version in Smugmug: http://kannafoot.smugmug.com/Photo-Challenges/PAD2014/i-fmLbBkz/0/XL/2014%2004%2004_0001%20copy-XL.jpg

@justaspark Thanks, Jule! I found some really interesting small stores in Durnstein, Austria, which is a really tiny village, so you might be surprised at what's hidden in your home town!

You think maybe you can hook me up with those collectible Lord of the Rings cards? ;) Only kidding. This is really cool, Ron! Love it in B&W. Comic book/collectible stores always fun to explore.

@sierranicole423 lol Thanks, Sierra! He actually has both versions of the cards. I only played the card game once, years ago. You now have me wondering where MY cards are!

This scene makes me rue getting rid of comics, albums and toys when I was a child. I had the original Barbie and Beatles album, for cryin' out loud!

@cejaanderson Oh, yeah. I can't count how many "first editions" were victims of the dreaded Spring Cleaning when I was a kid.

Looks like a very interesting shop! Love the capture in monochrome! Sure seems like a very interesting shop to sticky beak around! :)

@lilminimonka Thanks, Brianna! It really is an interesting place. I think it may be time to poke around a few antique shops, too, for the same reason. "Sticky beak!" Now that's an expression I've never heard, so I had to look that one up. I love it!

@kannafoot It must just be an Australian expression! Can I sense a new favourite expression coming on? Hehe x
