Words of wisdom indeed from Bilbo Baggins, and it matches my mood today. This morning, I announced my early retirement effective May 9th. While I believe the decision to be the right one for a number of reasons, the future has indeed become uncertain. For someone as conservative as I, abandoning the security of a steady job for a fixed income future is downright frightening. I tried to convey that in today's photo, showing the winding path trailing off into a blurred uncertainty.
Post processing started with a classic filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, boost black, and boost white. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.
