The Tiverton Historical Society sponsored "Colonial Days" throughout the Tiverton Four Corners area in celebration of the colonial history of the area. I visited the area, hoping to find people in period (18th century) outfits, but that was not the case. They did, however, showcase many period activities as seen in this photo. Here we see nine-year old Grace learning the art of rug weaving. According to her instructor, she's been sitting there weaving for well over an hour, so I'd say the hobby has hooked a new fan! She was doing a pretty good job, too.

Post processing started with a classic filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, boost black, boost white, and protect highlights. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.

Here's the high res version in Smugmug: http://kannafoot.smugmug.com/Photo-Challenges/PAD2014/i-WxvJGKv/0/XL/2014%2008%2030_0020%20copy-XL.jpg
