Dragon Boat Races

Today was the annual Chinese Dragon Boat Festival in Pawtucket. I stopped by for some photos of the racing on the Blackstone River. The course is about 250 yards long, and about 50 yards from the finish, they must reach out and snag a red flag from a floating buoy. That's what you see in this photo as the lead boat grabs their flag en route to the win. The festival continues to grow in popularity, and it was packed with people this year.
Post processing started with a neutral filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, boost black, boost white, and protect highlights. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.
That sounds and looks like so much fun! I might just have to watch one of these races one day, perhaps if I'm lucky, participate on one! Would you care to be my teammate Ron? ;)
