Soar Like an Egret

First, congrats to my friend Jule @justaspark on completing the first year of her 365 project, today! Well done, my friend.
I went to Haines Point at lunch for my photo today and spotted this Great Egret enjoying the first day of autumn. He was doing what egrets do best: standing in shallow cold water and staring off into the distance. Apparently deciding that no fish was about to jump up into his beak anytime soon, he flew off to a distant part of the cove. I managed to catch this photo of the Great Egret in flight, framed by a nice wisp of cloud.
Post processing started with a classic filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, and boost black. A levels adjustment was added in PSE.
