Frayed Edges

I visited the Blackstone River Bikepath at lunch today. Rounding one of the turns, several trees were backlit in the bright sun, and I liked how some of the leaves glowed in the light. This leaf, hanging on for dear life and looking a bit frayed around the edges, caught my eye. The shadows of branches behind the leaf added an interesting dynamic to the composition.
Post processing started with a classic filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders, adaptive exposure, regions, contrast, boost black, boost white, and protect highlights. In PSE I added a "find edges" filter with an overlay blend mode followed by a levels adjustment.
