Australian native terrestrial orchids sparked my initial interest in photography. Capturing a shot generally involves a keen eye and lots of bush-walking as most of them are tiny - this one is about the size of my thumbnail. I find the complex structures amazing, and a huge challenge to photograph. There are 59 species on Black Mountain where this was taken - about 3 km from the city centre.
Stunning. I have a wild or hid growing on a fern and in flower for the first time. It looks a bit ordinary at a distance. Now I will have to get in and take a closer look inside.
