the darkness of the spirits

Some 'pseudo-voodoo' for my second attempt at my get-pushed challenge of 'dark and menacing'. I am out of more than just a comfort zone... or two...

@northy - girl this really was one serious challenge! Have given it a go, and learnt a lot, including that I am seriously tragic at the world of darkness!! Mmmm... 'whimsical', where for art thou?..... ;-D

very cool... has wonderful voodoo-like overtones! i totally failed in the challenge you gave me this week :( combo of very little time and being in a foul mood made the possibility of meeting / talking to strangers virtually non-existent... i tried a bit on both thursday and friday, but didn't manage to pull it off :(

@northy sorry you had such a bad week..... do you think the challenge was 'one step too far' ? Or could it have been less specific, so it left an opening for you to interpret it - according to time available for your week? (I don't want to set unobtainable challenges). Hope next week is a great one for you all round.

nah... just a sucky week... no real time to hang out and shoot (which is the only way to get strangers here that i know of... everyone on the go has places to be and not much patience for being stopped), and some yuck at work making me grumpy... definitely hoping next week will be better...

@lyno thanks Lyn - this challenge was quite a bit harder than I predicted - I had to really think about my perceptions and 'visual filters' - after a year on 365 and training my eyes to ''see' the beauty in the everyday' it was surprisingly difficult to train my eyes to 'see' merit in photographing potentially confronting and disconcerting subjects.
