My 2012 image of Parliament House in Budapest illustrates the 'brass rubbing' tecnique described in http://365project.org/ltodd/365/2013-02-1 that gives an aged 'blue-print' feel.
I have posted this example to better explain the unusual workflow.
reading from the bottom layer:
-white background @ 50% opacity
- texture at hardlight blend mode
- layer where the original image had been deleted & then I used a paint brush tip to paint purple on the building, and an aqua for the sky and the Danube. It is quite intense as you can see, but because the mask is quite detailed and high in contrast, the outline of the shapes are accented. Areas of the image with little detail (eg the sky was 100% cloud) don't show through as well.
-HSL adjustment of the paint layer - increase saturation and decrease lightness & hue a little
- a 'show all' mask created from the original image & then inverted
- group image of the paint showing through the mask
-frame
I think I overcompressed the final image, so view enlarged for a less blurry experience!! :)
