it's fantastic! Love the depth of the colors and the leading line of the bridge toward the buildings. The clouds really add a "wow factor" to it all. Love this!
@tigerdreamer - Its all in the light. People use HDR to contrast-enhance a picture. High Dynamic Range refers to the range of contrasts that the picture portrays. In this picture I have worked with the soft light and strong contrasts of the scene to pick out the features. The bridge in particular shows the soft contrast ranges really well. In this shot I bracketed and then matched the sky to the same contrast range in the lower half of the shot. This extends the dynamic range, but it is not HDR. The important point is matching the tones in the sky to the tones in the rest of the picture. This gives the range that you refer to as 'richness'.
Beautiful photo! I only wish I understood all of this lingo! One question I have is, is it OK to take in a whole scene or do you focus on one main focal point. I'm referring to my March 1st photo. I think I should have cropped it or maybe focused on the dam more. What do you think? I appreciate any help!
I have to say, when I saw the title, I almost didn't click on it.
'The Millennium Bridge? I've seen plenty of photos of that...do I want to see another?'
I'm glad I clicked, because this is off the charts!
