I Spy With My Little Eye...

A face in the bricks!

We stopped off in Corning, NY today on our way home. We love stopping at the Market Street Brewery for lunch. Just around the corner from the restaurant you can find this fellow pushing his way through an old brick building. I've photographed him before, but not in the digital format so my husband graciously waited while I photographed him again. Then it was off to a delicious lunch! This was Jeff's favorite of the dozen I took.

Most people might walk by the building without looking up and never see this whimsical sculpture. I'm not sure what caused it to be put there in the first place, but I love the quirky, kooky, playful attitude of whoever decided to put it there. On a more serious note, it makes me think about how often I can walk past people and not really notice them. I've become more intentional in saying thank you to the cashier at the supermarket, to the stock person in the department store, to the waitress and busboy in the restaurant. All these people (and all people in general) are unique and special in God's sight. But sometimes it's easy to walk past them and not look up (so to speak). He loves them, and my smile or kind words, might just be what they need to have a good day. So here's my thought for the day: I spy with my little eye an opportunity to be a blessing to another!
How interesting

@digitalrn Thanks Rick- yes, it is. We stood there for quite some time trying to figure out exactly how they did it.

@kelleybelly It's really cool. If you look at the collage of Corning you will see how it looks from further back.
