There is a quietness in the air, a sort of expectancy. Liquid glass reflects the morning sun; steps, railings and cement clad edges ready themselves to welcome swimmers who will break the stillness with tentative toes. The placid pool has become a liquid confessional, a soothing massage, and a champion of better health for Dianne and I. We've become quite possessive of it and when it was closed for repairs, we longed for it like a long lost sweetheart or dearly departed relative. Happily we were reunited with our watery delight this past week. So now, every morning, we enter the doors of our little haven to find it waiting patiently for us... absolutely still.
@photobutton Thank you Photobutton. I feel like I'm improving in my writing as well as my photography as I continue on the 365 journey. I so appreciate your encouragement!
@roejan Roe Jan- I think you are the only person who noticed it was "not quite right"! I put it this way on purpose because if you look at the bottom center, you'll see my swimming partner Dianne coming through the door. It does make a nice optical illusion though- thanks!!
@sanera@mrssmith@bkbinthecity Thanks Samantha, Carla and bkb. It's always the first thing I think of when I hear the word still- a calm pool or quiet lake. Thanks for your comments!!
@potsbypam Thanks Pam- I think we would be like two peas in a pod! Actually Dianne is part of the reflection. She should be upside down and the railings in the foreground should be right-side up. At present they are upside down. Maybe that helps- or not...
Cool. I like your description. It gives a lot of insight. I find the perspective very interesting even if at my first glance it made me a little dizzy. ;-)
You mentioned the quietnesss of this pool..it looks beautiful with the reflection in the water..I guess its a public one..and soon it/ll fill up with swimmers. great picture.
@bruni Thank you Bruni! Yes others use it but most of the time it's after Dianne and I have done our exercises. It is open to our community, but so far no one likes to come as early as we do, so we have it to ourselves. We are definitely spoiled!
Really calming place! Water makes me so happy, I feel free and sparkly after a good swim, a lovely bath or even getting caught in a thunderstorm.
