Yom Kippur by olivetreeann

Yom Kippur

Fall is filled with color, but it's also filled with holidays. Most are joyous and festive. But Yom Kippur stands apart from them as a sober reminder that the things we do in life must be accounted for. It is a day of introspection and prayer. For devout Jews it is one of God's most demanding commands. Both personal and national sins must be reconciled and covered. However, in spite of its shadowed observance, there is light around the corner. In a few days the clouds will be lifted and joy will return for God forgives and He makes all things new again.
Wonderful! Interesting caption too

@kerristephens Thanks Kerri. I've had opportunity to study a good portion of the OT and really love it I just felt like putting this up today.

Great reminder of the Old Testament, Ann. Beautiful thoughts and commands, aren't they. And there is always "light around the corner!" Love this photo and your comment along with it!

@annaruth Thank you Anna! A little bit- I did better when I was in it everyday for school. But my husband was so inspired he taught himself. He's the expert now. I'm a little better at Greek. But I'm rusty in both of them. I've got plans to get back into it. I've just been lazy about opening the books and retraining my brain!
@httpgeffed Thanks Colleen! I thought the picture looked best in b&w because of the subject matter.
@bkbinthecity Thanks bkb!

@pandorasecho Thanks Dixie- I had to give most of my weaving things (including my loom) away when we moved here- but it didn't go too far- my daughter-in-law has it now. But I still have a few of the things I wove. Thanks for the comment on this picture too.
