White Oak Leaf by olivetreeann

White Oak Leaf

Rainy day! I should be doing some chores and catching up on a few odds and ends, and what am I doing? Playing in Picnik of course! This fellow was plastered on my windshield this morning and looked like he was floating in the air. So when I set out to put this shot in my computer, my goal was to keep that feeling. But then I started playing around with the different effects and every push of the button brought about another "oooh" and hence I have come away with a completely different picture than what I set out to do!

To produce this look I first applied the posterize effect and then HDR, put a brown vignette around the edges and added a frame. That little bit of blue which came out in the posterize stage snagged me- it doesn't even register that it's there, but it makes such a difference in the overall tone of this shot.

Stay dry and warm everyone- it's damp and rainy here!
Interesting processing

I think posterize is one of my favorite effects. It definitely reveals things otherwise not seen. Love what you did with this single leaf.
