I took the scenic route home yesterday after visiting with my friend. Instead of crossing over the Delaware at the Gap, I took the Columbia Bridge and drove up beautiful Route 611 on the Pennsylvania side of the river, stopping at several scenic overlooks to shoot the famous outcropping of rocks which give this section its distinctive identity. The Applachian Trail comes through here too, so I took a quick walk on it to check out these gentle falls which gracefully tumble beside it. I played a little with the shutter speed (a bit risky with no tripod!) to catch the movement of the water and enjoyed the "music" for a few moments more before heading back to the car and driving home.
@olivetreeann It is really cool, got to learn all these tricks with my camera, got a book for my birthday on how to use my camera just got to find a bit of time to practise
@simster Go for it Simmy! The practice really makes a difference. I probably shot 80 pictures of this waterfall and kept about 5! But the 75 I didn't keep, helped me to learn what to do the next time. @httpgeffed Thank you Colleen! @dmariewms Thank you Marie!
@yomamabinrotten Thanks Wyoming! There are some beautiful ones around here too! So many waterfalls and so little time! @changingtides Thank you Allie! I hadn't planned on it at first but while driving to meet up with my friend I realized it was the perfect day to take advantage of shooting the Water Gap. And although I got some nice ones of that, this shot was the best of the day. My camera doesn't give me a lot of room, but I used every option and knew I'd get something! @nicolecampbell Thanks Nicole!! @steeler Thank you Howard- I'm honored by your fav since your photos are awesome!!! @summerfield Thank you Summerfield!! You are great at lifting me up!!
Very cool shot, I love it when you can get the water to go silky like this, I'm still waiting for my ND filter before I can get my shutter speed down with the sun out!
I love your scenic route! Fantastic capture and I love the how the autumn leaves are so conveniently arranged on the rocks surrounding the waterfalls. Fav!
@sjodell Thanks Sarah! These are the kinds of shots where I really miss my old SLR camera because I could play with every little nuance and get the shot I wanted. Right now, I've got a little p & s digital, so it's been a challenge figuring out how to make it do close to what I want. So I was fairly pleased with this. @cimes1 Thanks Carole! Wasn't that nice of Mother Nature to arrange the leaves? lol And thank you so much for the fav!! @sanera Thanks Samantha!
@digitalrn Thank you Rick! (If another photographer who was smoking hadn't been there- I might have thought so myself! But he was very polite and kept a distance.) @prttblues Thanks Bev! I know it's hard to push past that feeling to stay cloistered inside and to go out, but it's the best thing you can do- even if it's only for ten minutes to shoot the leaves on the ground! @neilbrewski Thanks Neil!
@allie912 thank you so much Allison! I so appreciate the fav!! @ididntdoit87 thank you so much Hillary! @gene thank you Gene! (Flipside) Thanks for stopping by! @sabanford thank you Shirley! Thanks for the view and comment! @mrssmith thank you Carla! This one is easy to spot- just across the street from a lovely scenic overlook. @melorac thank you Carole!
Thanks to everyone- I'm so excited at the response I've had over this picture. It was lovely to take, but no evenmoreso with the enjoyment everyone has gotten from it.
@geertje Thank you Geertje!

@espyetta Thanks MaryBeth. I think this one is cold all year since I'm sure it's spring-fed.
