Green Friends by olivetreeann

Green Friends

I love it when I get two words that make a strange combination for the tag challenge. It's better than a Suduko puzzle when you try to make something sensible out of them. To me a combo like puppy and love is too easy (and not much of a challenge)! So my word combo this time was a good one. I know most people would have taken the route of posting some friends green with envy. But not me! It took two days of mulling this one over, but I finally found some friends that really are green- in every sense of the word. What do you think?
Well done challenge!

@httpgeffed Thanks Colleen! I was actually surprised to learn about the antioxidants!

I do think there is a lot of truth to that old saying.

@digitalrn Thanks Rick! Yes, if you eat a lot of apples, you are doing incredible things for your overall health. I am not a huge fan of apples. I like apple juice, apple cider and applesauce. But apples by themselves, not so crazy about them. After learning all the good things they do for you, I'm going to try harder to "like" them!

it's super true. i myself eat one of them, although sometimes my friend is red, but for sure it may have been green at some point. great processing. are you in print advertising, ann? your concepts are really creative.

@summerfield Thanks Summerfield. I am only an amateur photographer, but I've been thinking about possibly doing something with my photography since coming on 365. I've been out of work for two years, unable to find a job in my field. I'm very appreciative that you think I could be in print advertising! I've been thinking of note cards and calendars, but so many people can do their own, I'm not sure they'd sell. So, your comment really lifted my spirits!

Oh I LOVE this one, Ann! I got two words that just didn't seem to work and gave up. You're a great inspiration to me . . next time I will persevere! This is a wonderful idea and photo and processing! :)

@olivetreeann - you have a really creative way of presenting things: the onions and peppers, for example; or the kids' photos on nov. 8 and 27, the bells, and many others. you should perhaps contact your local or community newspapers. even if you volunteer at the start, just to get you in the groove of things. or the local grocer or stores may want to send out flyers, you can present a few layout samples and maybe it will turn into something.

look at me, i'm dispensing career advice. hmmm... there's a new job possibility for me, too!

but seriously.

@karenann Thank you Karenann- what words did you get? We still have a day left to come up with something!
@summerfield Thank you for those ideas Summerfield- you are quite good at this career counseling! I had also thought of the newspapers and I do think that after the holidays that might be worth looking into- even if it's freelancing and selling shots of things that are going on around my area. Thanks again for the encouragement- it means A LOT!!! to me.

Excellent pic and good job on the challenge.

@michaelelliott Thanks Michael. I really didn't want to go the green with envy route. Seemed like the easy way out to me. So the Apple a Day lesson was born. lol

Oh, I like the processing here! This would make a great pic to put up in the kitchen. Very Andy Warhol!

December 21st, 2011

@kloud Thanks Bonnie! Basically simple effects applied- it's all in how you apply them- not so much what you use.
@flydragon Thank you so much Flydragon!
@rayg86 I do like apples with peanut butter- but tend to overdue the peanut butter! Maybe this would work by pre-measuring the pb. Good suggestion Ray!
@nicolecampbell Thanks Nicole!
@steeler Thanks Howard!
@alia_801 Thank you Alia!
@eyetoeye Thank you Maria!
@adobewaters Thank you Adobe!

Thank you so much everyone! I hope the Tag Challenge folks agree with you!

I think you should sell this as a poster to all docotrs you know so that the could show it to their patients;-) Green is a colour of life. Hm... I wonder is this why US dolars are green? LOL
December 21st, 2011
@bkbinthecity Thank you bkb!
@tanyasamol Why thank you Tanya- you are too kind! But that's not a bad idea! As for the US money- good question! lol

@woot Thank you Davide!

Love it. The processing is so creative. Love the font you used. The words of wisdom are definitely terrific and the whole package deserves a fav.

@allie912 Thank you so much for the fav Allison!! I learned a few things for this shot and I really appreciate your vote of confidence!
December 22nd, 2011
lol! Good thing I adore apples!
December 22nd, 2011
@potsbypam Good for you! I wish I liked them more- I like apple juice, apple cider, applesauce- but just not that crazy about the apples themselves. But I think I'm going to try again after learning all these wonderful things they do!
December 22nd, 2011
@olivetreeann Maybe try a not so sweet apple like McIntosh. I think they have more flavor.
December 22nd, 2011
@potsbypam I've been buying a "new" apple for Jeff called Honeycrisp- thought I'd give them a try. He says they're delicious and live up to their name.
December 23rd, 2011
@olivetreeann oh they are really good! My friend Sally loves them and gets them at the Farmers Market in Baltimore, Maryland!
