I was trying to think of a wonderful and relaxing place to take a shot of for the last day of the photo a day challenge, but unfortunately I could not get to it (the Jersey shore) for today's shot. So I had to think more practically. Actually when it all comes down to it, home is where I do most of my relaxing. And the place in my home that is the most relaxing of all, is our comfy couch in front of the fireplace. As if on cue, the temperature dropped today and it rained, so the combination of damp and cold gave us a good reason to light a fire when we arrived home in the late afternoon. So here you have it- the place where I relax.
Sounds like heaven!! You have a home that looks so inviting, Ann. I feel like I should memorize some of your items there, because you might process one of them and make us guess, "What it this?!"
:)
@deniseinindy Thank you Denise! @bkbinthecity Thank you Brian! @tklein Thank you Tina @karenann Thank you Karenann! lol actually 3 things in this shot have appeared in some of my 365 pictures: the candle, the tiles on the hearth and coffee table (which has served for a background for many shots- most recently the keys.
I LOVE your Fireplace!! Love the bricks ,tile and stones and the actual architecture..I would have to say that Home is the most relaxing place for me too! Untill i get to the Beach or on Top of a Mountain!! I am interested in this photo a day and or April A-challenge where did you find them ..on the discussion board? Well Its always a good feeling to finish something and get onto something new!! Have fun!
@ellimae Thank you Ellen! We are very blessed to have a comfy little home! You are welcome to visit any time! (And we are on top of a mountain too!) I saw the photo a day challenge for March listed as a discussion started by one of the people I follow. The April A Challenge is one I made up and posted. Alia (@alia_801) and I are always looking for fun challenges to do. Sometimes she makes them up, and then this month I just thought it would be fun to try this. Here's where you'll find it listed 365project.org/discuss/themes-competitions/11809/april-a-challenge. It's never too late to start- jump in! @kerristephens Thanks Kerri! @potsbypam Thanks Pam! @nicolecampbell Thanks Nicole! @louisefrance Thanks Louise! Yes- that's true!! @filsie65 Thanks Phil. We're two peas in a pod in front of that fire! @sangwann Thanks Dione. I wanted to get the feeling of open space so I went for a long line of view from camera to hearth. @digitalrn Thanks Rick. We really believe God brought us to this house- we never even thought we'd own our own home! @alia_801 Thanks Alia! @peterdegraaff Thanks Peter- it's not a show-stopping shot, but it does capture our little home quite well.
Congrats on finished your March challenge..so what it the April one? do you find it easy to follow one of these? lovely cozy picture. too bad my husband didn't want a fireplace when we built our home. yes it would come in so handy..today we had a bit of snow again but it's all gone by now..so instead it's raining and that makes it so damp..now I like to thank you for commenting on my pictures. let me explain the last one. my daughter took this shot when she and her partner were on a Scandinavian cruise had a two day stopever in St. Petersburg, Russia. so the building is one of her shots. I have her whole cruise on my computer..now the computer screensaver is moving very slowly from one picture to the next and that way overlapping a bit. at the right moment before the one fades away and the other one comes in that's when I take a picture of it. this was my first try.
@bruni Thanks Bruni- it's always a pleasure to comment on your shots because I know you will return the interest! It's damp and rainy here today too- not great for achy joints. We'll fire up the woodstove again in a little while. Hope your back feels better soon! @steeler Thanks Howard! It's a cozy place and we hope to give it a fresh coat of paint this summer.
@bruni Oh, and I forgot to answer your first question- yes, I find the challenges fun. In a way they force you to think creatively about subjects or items that you might not think of taking a picture of. I designed the April A Challenge and posted it last week.
