After sharing a nice Mother's Day brunch with my sister and her family yesterday, we returned to the nursing home to visit with Dad only to find he'd been sent to the hospital with a fever and other complications. It was really touchy, but after some medication and aggressive treatment by the emergency room staff, he was moved to ICU and today he seemed to have improved, even to the point of asking for ice cream instead of dinner. We went home to have dinner but just as it seemed we pulled through another crisis, a phone call summoned us back to the hospital, but Dad was gone by the time we got there. We are still numb, but trying our best to make funeral preparations and such. My father attended this church for many years and now its steeple points to Dad's new residence in a place where he no longer battles the ravages of Parkinson's Disease and Pulmonary Fibrosis.
Oh Ann I'm so sorry to hear your news... my own Dad bounced back so many times my friend called him 'the comeback king' until one day he was gone - it was such a shock. Thank goodness you got to see him and spend time with your family too. Steeples are a good choice this week - my thoughts and prayers with you all. x
Ann- so sorry about the events I missed last week.
I love your photo here and what you share.
Nothing can take away the feelings of loss but the timing of your visit and having seen him just for a little will be precious.
Hope you have been conscious of love and care and God's presence through the days - one at a time. x
Sorry to hear the bad news take it easy and we are here to help where we can.

our thoughts are with you.
So sorry, Ann. My dad passed away all of a sudden while I was abroad and couldn't be home for his funeral. I'm sure he'll be in a better place and will be looking over you from up there.
Ann I am so sorry to hear that your dad passed away. This must be such an emotional time for you and your family. It is a beautiful church and the purple is a wonderful colour. I know that you have a very strong faith and you will be at peace to know that your dad is watching over you and will always be with you in your memories. Take care and my thoughts and love are with you. Nic xxx
@alia_801 Thank you Alia. Before Dad went to ICU we had taken a stroll around the nursing home and one of the sun rooms had a bird cage with parakeets and other tropical chirpers. I had fun telling Dad about my friend in Australia who has two pretty birds named Magic and Phoenix! He liked their names.
@prttblues Thank you Bev. I was unable to get on to the computer since I posted this, but please know I really felt the encouragement everyone was sending. @mrssmith Thank you Carla. It's been a very busy and emotional week, but I am still thankful that Dad is no longer suffering so.
@lisjam1 Thank you Lisa. Please do not feel bad. While I was in Vt. my computer time was spotty so I am way behind in my viewing and commenting! I'm steadily going through comments and catching up. I truly appreciate your heartfelt words.
@eudora Thanks Diane- yes I know it doesn't take much to fall behind- but I am truly taking my time catching up and not stressing if I miss a shot or two.
Oh, Ann, I am so very sorry to hear the news of your dad's passing. I apologize for not seeing this earlier. Your 365 family is here for you if you need us. Your photos are so beautiful and a nice way to remember him. Please know I'll be thinking about you!!
@deniseinindy Thank you so much Denise and please don't feel bad. It happened rather quickly and I wasn't on 365 steadily throughout so you are not the only one who didn't notice because I wasn't always posting. Thank you so much for your kind words and heart-felt sympathy.

I can't thank all of you enough for the kind words, hugs, well-wishes and prayers. I feel as if I'm physically surrounded by such wonderful friends even though we're miles apart! I've been reading all the comments today and drawing so much strength from them. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
