@allie912 lol Allison- not eerie at all- probably just the "Yesteryear" processing throwing you off. And no, believe me, it's not the crack of dawn! Once again, its probably the processing. This was taken shortly after 9 AM. And my swimming buddy arrived 5 minutes later. @paulavdmerwe Thank you Paula! @maggiemae Thank you Maggie! @twinsplusone Thank you Sharon! @wenbow Thank you Wendy! @karenann Thank you Karenann! @kerristephens Thank you Kerri!
@digitalrn Thanks Rick- only for a few minutes. My friend Dianne arrived and then a few more people. We had a nice group today. @sarasdadandmom Thanks Terry! It sure makes my joints feel better. @kimmistephens Thanks Kimmi!
Maggiemae aswered the question I was going to ask..What besides water is in the pool. neer thought of a reflection. may I ask what the exercises are for?
@bruni This pool has some great reflections. When it's really clear, and you're staring into it, it's hard to tell what's real and what's not. I swim laps back and forth along with side twists and other stretching exercises to help loosen me up. I'm dealing with arthritis.
As to your question..Hans is in Toms River..doing some remodeling in my girlfriends home..I know here since we were 13 years old. her and 2 more girlfriends all followed me when I immigrated to Canada.. one of them lives 15 min car ride away from me and the other lives in Riverside, Calif.
Cool shot! As soon as I saw it was a pool I knew it would be your pic :) I love the reflections you've captured - it looks like there is a wooden boat hull at the bottom of the pool :)
Great reflection. I was saying to myself 'how the hell did they build that bottom of the pool'. Hope you enjoyed your work-out. My swim is always in the open sea - I don't love pools.
@cortens Thanks Julie- There are mornings like today where I would love to skip it. I'm so stiff- but it actually makes me feel better once I get in the water and start moving, so that's a good motivator for me. @potsbypam Thanks Pam! Have fun!! @tanja_1211 Thanks Tanja! I usually do. @salza Thanks Sally! @alia_801 Thanks Alia! Yes, you're quite familiar with this place even though you've never been here having been my buddy now for quite some time!! This pool has the most fascinating reflections. @tammy73 Thank you Tammy- yes I did! @sangwann Thank you Dione! The boat in the bottom of the pool trick is done with mirrors. (o: I like swimming in the ocean too but I do not live near the ocean so it's an indoor pool for me. The benefit is that I can swim rain or shine.
Ann, your arthritis reminds me of a incident that occurred when I was a young child. My grandmother who gave up her farm and lovely apartment to raise five children... James was one and I was 2 1/2, Tom, five, Daniel, 7, and John 9 had horrible arthritis at the age of 70 when she started caring for us. I remember being in Sunday school and they wanted to send a fruit basket to someone who was very ill. I piped in MY Grandma has ARTHRITIS and it is awful. I remember the Sunday School teacher and other children laughing at me but I was very much in earnest as I saw my grandmother struggle any time she got up from a sitting position. To me, arthritis was and is a horrible and painful ailment. The one thing that really helped my grandma was that she never gave in to it and just kept on keeping on. Later, the same year, I came down with rheumatic fever and they sent the fruit basket to me. Personally, at the time, I still wondered why they didn't send it to my grandmother. I think swimming is so relaxing and it doesn't feel like the horrible exercise word at all! :)
@prttblues Thanks Bev! It gets me moving and loosens my joints. I really enjoy it! @smithak Thanks Smitha! @cimes1 Thanks Carole! I did!! @geertje Thanks Geertje! Oh yes- I do enjoy coming here every weekday and moving around in the water. @woot Thanks Davide! It's really nice- lots of windows so the room feels very open. @potsbypam Thank you so much Pam! So far I am holding it at bay. I do have some trouble getting up and down- especially off the floor after playing with those grandchildren!! But like your grandmother, I'm just not letting it stop me. The pool has been wonderful and although I'm not loosing weight as I'd hoped to, I can move so much better since I've begun swimming there. So I feel blessed to have it- the pool that is! @dmariewms Thanks Marie! This pool has some really neat reflections!
@olivetreeann My chiro wants me to do swimming but it would be one armed (well, not now if I can't get my left one under control, it will be just floating!!)... he says it will help my back and my lower back. I try to walk but I can only do 10 minutes at a given time ... any more than that and I'm sort of stuck and need to hobble back to my car or my house. I feel so old. Stupid car accidents (not my fault! The one of my totaled car in my year one album is, but that didn't damage me like the ones where I got hit did).
@prttblues Right now I don't seem to have the stamina to swim freestyle. I can do the breast stroke and I can also use a noodle to hold me up as I kick behind me. It really has helped my back as well. I also can do some exercises in the water that I can't do out of it because the water helps to hold me up. I'd recommend it if you've got a place you can go. I know I just feel better all the way around since I've been consistently keeping up with it.
i wanted to dive in but it says 'no diving'!! the water is so inviting given the kind of heat we're getting around here. i got to find me a pool where hardly anyone goes. :-) nice shot, ann!
@mrssmith Thanks Carla! Sometimes I wish I didn't have to get up and go, but I'm always glad I did! @nicolecampbell Thanks Nicole! It's not too small, but it's not big either. It's designed for swimming laps and exercise.
@automaticslim Thank you so much Automatic!! If you like this one- check out these dates: April 1, 2011; August 8, 2011; and Feb. 15, 2012 of my project. They are marvelously disorienting too! (o: !!
