Thumbnail Challenge- Shapes 2

I'm sticking with that floral shape for the week and alternating indoors and outdoors.
Cool! Yesterday was a circle inside a flower and today is a flower inside a circle :)

@httpgeffed Thanks Colleen!

Thank you all! This is the second appearance of this plate this month. It goes to show how things change from color to b/w. It's the plate I used for the red of my rainbow.

@kimmistephens Thanks Kimmi!
@salza Thanks Sally!
@alia_801 Thanks Alia! I was noodling around with an idea yesterday- not sure about it. I don't know if you want to keep up the month divided into weeks format or go back to a daily format. Or a combo of the two like we did in August. Let me know which direction you're leaning in.
@sabine Thanks Sabine!
@sangwann Thanks Dione!

July 26th, 2012
@potsbypam Thanks Pam!
@bruni Thanks Bruni!
@daisy Thanks Kathryn!
@summerfield Thanks Vikki! You can still do something like this. Don't let my shot stop you.
July 26th, 2012
@olivetreeann I'm really liking the weekly format, but I'm open to whatever comes along :) Wanna share your idea?
July 26th, 2012
Lyn
I really like the idea you're coming up with, alternating indoor and outdoor!
July 26th, 2012
Bev
Oh wow... This is very cool. I can't even guess as to what it goes to, but this is really nice! Well done!
July 26th, 2012
@alia_801 I put out a challenge to @summerfield because she came up with a challenge for @myautofocuslife that was very clever. Let's see if she'll come up with an idea or two! The ball's in your court Vikki!
@lyno Thanks Lyn- I'm always looking for ways to make the challenges easier- lol
@prttblues Thanks Bev- oh, it's the red plate from the first day of the rainbow- it's the center and the rainbow shot was focused on the outer edge. It's a great shot to show how b/w can change the appearance of an object.

@olivetreeann - fine, i'm going to have migraine trying to think now. how about we celebrate the olympics? the olympic rings are in five colours: blue, yellow, black, green and red. there are 3 full weeks in august sandwiched by two five-day weeks. each week is assigned a colour, and we have to take photos with the assigned colour as the dominant colour of the photo. lame?

how about a diary-type challenge like we had in june, but food (of course!) figuring more during the week - at least three (hehehehe).

mondays - your breakfast
tuesdays - what you did in the morning or a representation of your morning
wednesdays - what you had for lunch
thursdays - what you did in the afternoon or something about what happened in your afternoon
fridays - selfless selfie (i kinda like that challenge)
saturdays - your dinner
sundays - church/family

for monday, wednesday or saturday, maybe give an alternative to food. what, i have no idea. something like that, maybe you and alia can refine it. i'm just the executioner, i just follow orders :-)

July 27th, 2012
@summerfield They both sound fun- I like the Olympic idea or do you mean this as a combo challenge? @alia_801 Any suggestions Alia? One of the gals I was following was doing a "What's on your shelf?" theme this week, which I also liked and I had tentatively thought of What's on your shelf, What's in your closet, What's on the table (fits Vikki's food challenge well) and What are you wearing? But honestly, I'm not ultra excited about it! The fun thing about the Olympic challenge is that it gives us that striped view on the calendar again. Or we could blend all of them into one happy mish-mash!!
July 27th, 2012
@summerfield @alia_801 I'm happy to put it all together after your feedback ladies if you'd like.
July 27th, 2012
@olivetreeann - whew! of course. thank you, ann.
July 27th, 2012
@olivetreeann - by the way, i didn't mean it as a combo challenge. either the olympic one, or the other. but if you can pull it off as a combo, that makes the challenge more challenging. but it might discourage some and they might not want to participate.
July 27th, 2012
@summerfield One week Olympic colors (obviously one of the 5 day weeks), one week food, etc. Something like that.
July 27th, 2012
@olivetreeann - i didn't realize that the olympic games start tomorrow, and it runs until the 12th. if we do the olympic colours for a week, maybe make it on the 6th-12th, with gold and silver on the extra two days. what do you think?
July 27th, 2012
@summerfield That could work. On my tentative draft I put the Olympic colors in on Aug. 6-12 and the "food" week for 13-19. I'll see if Alia has any ideas and slot one of mine around that. Looks like it's starting to take shape.
July 27th, 2012
Brilliant - looks like a shield.
July 27th, 2012
@la_photographic Thanks Laura! That must come from your fencing talent!
July 27th, 2012
This is so cool - I never would have thought of shooting in b&w - highly effective!
July 28th, 2012
@lesphoto Actually red things come out looking great in b/w. I'm not sure of the reason for that but they just do. Thanks Leslie!
July 28th, 2012
@summerfield @olivetreeann Ooh good ideas! I like the idea of an olympic colours week - it only comes around every 4 years so we should probably celebrate now!
Perhaps we could have an olympic sport themed week - or 5 days - we can take pics that somehow relate to different olympic activities (e.g. an arrow for archery, a horse for equestrian... that could make it into a bit of a guessing game too :))
July 28th, 2012
@alia_801 I don't know if I'd be able to do a week of sports- I'm not near a lot of athletic stuff, but maybe I'll put it up front on the short week. Yeah, I'm game (lol) I'll put it up front. I'll post the challenge in a little bit.
July 28th, 2012
WOW! Love the glassware in black and white! Very cool series!
July 31st, 2012
@deniseinindy Thanks Denise! It's a great example on seeing something differently when you shoot in a different genre.
