The Olympic Motto is "Citius, Altius, Fortius" (Latin) which means "Faster, Higher, Stronger". Like the Olympic rings, it traces its creation back to Pierre de Coubertin, the creator of the Modern Olympics. De Coubertin borrowed it from his friend Henri Didon, a Dominican priest, who was a great fan of athletics. This motto could not be more true. If you've been watching any of the competitions this year, you'll notice many world and Olympic records being broken- sometimes to the tiniest millisecond!
Our final color is gold- something that all Olympic athletes wish to attain, but only a few can.
Love those two colors together ... beautiful processing once again!! You did a wonderful series here, Ann. Yes, "go for the gold" they all say. But even getting to the Olympics is such a wonderful accomplishment! P.S. Who is that "klara" person? Can't get that msg. off of my site ... can't Ross do it? What an annoyance and a bit scary.
Sorry so late on commenting... been on vacation :) I LOVE LOVE LOVE all your Olympic rings and medals colors and your thumbnails look great! I also really enjoy all the history.
Just checked in with you as i havent seen your pics and i see you are away! I hope all is o.k.! We are starting your 30 seconds in a room today and of course i thought of you...i am going to give it a go in this one room R.V. i live in!! Lets see what i can come up with now!!! You know i mostly take all of my photosl outdoors so this is definitly going to be a challenge for me!! stop bye when you get back and once again I hope all is well....ellen
My oh my!! Thank you so much for all the great comments and well wishes! I am finally home and have a working computer! My hope was that I'd be able to post and comment while away by using my friend's laptop. But it decided to rebel and wouldn't allow us to get on the internet. By day two the 365 withdrawal was quite bad. I did continue to follow the challenge and took shots each day for the daily assignment. I promise I will not upload them all at once! I hate that!! Not that I'm home I'm looking forward to catching up but I know it's going to take quite a while so be patient with me!
To those who made comment on "Klara", I guess Ross has fixed it because it is no longer here. I think I'm glad I missed it!
MaryBeth- this is a pewter copy of an Early American cake mold. The center is a star and it's circled with hearts- as in the design of a flower. My mother gave it to me many years ago. I thought the star went well with the Olympic colors.
And thanks to those who loved the color- it's not easy getting something that's silver to turn gold!
Once again- I hope to come back later and go to all your pictures- on my way to help out another friend today but I just wanted to check in to at least one of my shots!! I thought of you every day and really missed being able to post. Believe it or not I shot over 1500 pictures this week! Of course they weren't all spectacular- and many have been deleted completely but since I wasn't able to sort and post them each day the task of reviewing them was monumental!! I'll be back to posting this evening and slowly work at catching up- both in commenting and posting as the week goes by. Can't wait to see what you've all been up to!
@olivetreeann - I was just thinking of you this evening Ann and hoping that all was well as you hadn't been posting. I am looking forward to seeing your photos.
@nicolecampbell Thank you Nicole- I can't tell you how much I missed my 365 pals!!! I was so disappointed when the laptop wouldn't work! @pandorasecho Thanks Dixie! I did- now it's time to start posting!
@alia_801 Thanks Alia! You can't imagine how upset I was when Dianne's computer wouldn't hook up with the internet. I don't know which was worse- not being able to post on time, or knowing that I'd have thousands of pictures to view when I got home or missing out on all the friendly banter over our projects! But at least I was able to keep shooting and I'll slowly catch up with everything else. Tell the girls I said hello!
