I took this shot the other day and could go take it again this morning, but why? I don't know what appeals to me about this shot, I just like it. So here it is- a lamp from my living room.
I like the different shapes in each corner. The view speaks of a time when people hung out in elegant living rooms. Not many homes built around here have traditional living rooms....just great rooms (casual) ......
@espyetta Thank you MaryBeth! Well, if you could see the whole room, I don't think you'd classify it as an "elegant" living room. I think it's more cozy, but some of my pieces have a nod to something a bit finer. I'll ask Laraine since she's been here- @eniaral Thanks Laraine! What do you think? Is my living room elegant or cozy?
@edie Thank you Edie! I am actually enjoying this challenge. I didn't know if I would like shooting an entire month in b/w. But it's been fun and creative. Definitely something different! @allie912 Thank you Allison!
That is the interesting thing about photography. Everyone is attracted to different types of photos and then sharing them with others brings a new perspective into their lives. Thanks Ann
i love the partial-ness (i might have just invented a word if that is not a word, but these days, anyone can invent a word anyway so why can't i?:-)) this photo portrays: partial frame, partial wall, partial light, partial lampshade. great composition, ann, wonderful shot.
@digitalrn Thank you Rick- you could be right. I've been thinking it's the lighting which ties into that. @bkbinthecity Thank you Brian! @summerfield Thank you Vikki! I like your invented word- it works for this picture at least! @sangwann Thank you Dione!
I can't decide about this one ... it's that finial. In one way it's a cool little detail, but it's disturbing the shape of that lovely negative space. The composition is basically very strong indeed, that's for sure.
@deniseinindy Thank you Denise- I have to laugh because I don't really like it! I needed a shade, as the old one had been toppled over one too many times by rambunctious teens, but I couldn't find one similar to what I'd had. This one was the only one in the store at the time that was the same length as the old one. @automaticslim Thanks Andy! Food for thought about the negative space.
hi, ann. the photo capture of your calendar is only 66 kb. i'd like to send it to you by e-mail so you can post it. i think if i post it on my album somehow the process makes the file even smaller. e-mail me and i'll send you the file: vikkisummerfield|@gmail.com
