I don't usually have the occasion to buy flowers at the supermarket, but I was in charge of decorating last night's friendship gathering at church, so I was able to splurge!! I bought these beautiful tulips and had some fun with over-exposing them in the morning sun before I ran the car up to the mechanic. I ended up with two shots I liked equally well. This one and the tulip leaves in my second album. I gave this one a soft focus as well as the over-exposure. This is the shot I've been aiming for all week!
@edie Thank you Edie! Thank you for the fav too! Yes, I they are quite lovely in color but I think I'll wait until the open a bit more before I post the color version. @eniaral Thank you Laraine! @automaticslim Thank you Andy! I always enjoy seeing what appeals to people especially when it's a different perspective than mine- just keeps you thinking freshly about what, why and how you shoot a subject. For me, I love the way the flower fades into the light- as if it's growing out it too. I suppose I might be able to get the best of both worlds by lightly burning the edge of the flower back in. Something to fiddle around with someday.
Lovely overexposure. I finally got the overexposure I was trying for all week too. It is easy for me to overexpose on accident, but much harder to do this on purpose.
@tara11 Thank you Tara! You are too kind- this is the best of the lot and what I was looking for. The rest of the week is ok, and the garden hose was good too- but this is the best.
