Struggled to choose something for this Me-March challenge. I've already posted some of my academic achievements and I'm really not one to blow my own horn. But I finally decided I'd post this to celebrate one of my pieces being accepted on the EPC Women's Ministry Blog. Believe me when I tell you it was a lousy shot! The computer screen was way too bright and massively white. I'm not crazy about the head shot, but it's the only one I have to send out when editors want one. And I didn't want to just take a picture of the print out. Well, it is what it is! I added some texture which toned down the stark white screen and subdued the white paper too. I used a paper texture with printing on it- at least it stays with in the theme of writing. I think I ran it through the HDR effect in iPiccy too which brought out the features on the keyboard better and cropped it some as well. Well, it's definitely NOT one of my better pictures, but it does celebrate my publication. Now it's time to move on to today's shot- another one that's stumping me!
Thank you Diane, Vickie, Taffy, Jennifer, Nada, Kathryn, Demmie, Henri, Laraine and Donald! Thank you so much for all the congratulations and compliments. This one is so significant to me and this community really is so great to stand up and applaud! Wish you could see the grin that's going from ear to ear!
Actually I found this quite interesting.....the comp, processing, idea, etc. You made what you call a 'lousy' shot into a winner! Congratulations go out to you on being published.
Necessity is the mother of invention as they say. This shot really looked awful with that hideous white glare from the computer screen. I still don't think it's that good, but I'm glad you liked it!
This is a great shot, Ann! I love how you processed it and described how you got it to look like this. I couldn't do this photos! I suck at any kind of editing! You can make a can of worms look artistic and appealing! Well done! :)
