Initially I took this shot because I liked the way the shadows from the blinds were criss-crossing on the curtains. But when today's word turned out to be gold, I realized this shot would be something different from the ordinary gold object shot. When I uploaded it into the computer I discovered that the way the sun was coming through the sheers, it looked like gold dust had been sprinkled across them.
Thank you Kerri, Denise, Carla, Bruni, MaryBeth, Rick and Sarah!
Denise- what looks like a screen is actually a curtain, so I'm not sure my screen shots would be better than any of yours!
PS I've been pondering your May flowers suggestion. I think I might go nuts trying to find flowers each day, especially as it's dark most of the time I'm not working now - I was thinking maybe 'flora and fauna' or 'animal, vegetable, mineral' might leave a little more scope, for those like me who aren't very floral (and who are heading for winter)...
@alia_801 Thanks Alia! The May Flowers idea is not solely mine. I think Tanja had in mind flowers after a particular shot- but as you know I never limit myself to the strict or literal! In other words a plastic flower, flowers on a print, man flowers, something that looks like a flower but isn't a flower or flowers shot in the grocery store are all valid interpretations of the theme to me. You can use your imagination on it as you see fit. My first thought was how am I going to shoot 31 flowers?! But then I started thinking about all the different ways and places to see flowers- and the fact that they didn't necessarily have to be living flowers- and I think I can do it. We do call them challenges for a reason! hehe Maybe what we can do is give you a hearty flower-related alternative/substitute list, because I do understand the constraints of winter.
