@ididntdoit87 Thanks Hillary! @salza Thanks Sally! Only slightly overexposed- it was taken in very bright afternoon light on a white plate. @maggiemae Thanks Maggie- well according to our technicolor word list chocolate is a color. (o:
@dakotaburns Thanks Donald! No beverages involved in this shot. It's a hot chocolate mix (from France of all places- a souvenir from a friend who went there) on top of a white plate. I poured it in a pile and then twirled my finger through it in a circular fashion.
@filsie65 Thanks Phil! When chocolate is involved? Do we even have to ask that question? @kerristephens Thanks Kerri! @henrir Thanks Henri! @pflaume Thanks Lisa! @httpgeffed Thanks Colleen! It'd be a dangerous place to live I suppose, what with the inhabitants adding a little to their hot milk each day. Talk about erosion! @cocolil Thanks Tracy! @nicolecampbell Thanks Nicole- not a waste at all. Once photographed, a cup of hot chocolate was fully enjoyed! We NEVER waste chocolate in this house! @eudora Thanks Diane! @daisy Thank you Kathryn! @allie912 Thank you Allison!
@edie Thanks Edie! I was being a little tongue in cheek there- it's not hard to shoot chocolate especially when you can eat it after the shot is done! @worthitall Thanks Rashella! @mrssmith203 Thanks Carla! If you could smell my picture we'd be sitting down for a cup of hot chocolate together! Now that would be nice!
@digitalrn Thank you Rick! @megmills Thank you Meg! I was being a bit tongue in cheek there- it's not hard to photograph chocolate at all especially when you can eat it afterwards! @masosy Thank you Kate! It's all natural light, bumped up just a notch on the ISO dial. To add to the brightness, the chocolate is set on a white plate.
@masosy Oh Kate, I just realized I told you the wrong thing- it's the exposure compensation that was bumped up a notch but I think you could accomplish the same goal with the ISO too- whatever causes the camera to over-expose the shot will make it high key-I think. I'm not totally technique savvy with my memory on these effects. Once I learn what works with my p & s I repeat it when I want the same effect. I hope that helps!
@tanja_1211 Thanks Tanja! Yes, it's a hot chocolate mix. @alia_801 Thanks Alia! I think the sparkles are sugar. @sangwann Thanks Dione! @peterdegraaff hahaha- absolutely Peter!
chocolate is just hard to shoot, especially when you like it a lot. fortunately there was none on this day (because i ate them all day before) so i had to make do with chocolate drink, and that was before i had a spoonful of the powder. :-)

@mhatch Thank you Mark! Haha- if you got lost in this one, you could just eat your way out!
@summerfield Thank you Vikki! I didn't eat the powder- a little too much sugar in this one!
