Well, I didn't make it to the Derby yesterday. And today I was unable to locate Luke Skywalker. But I did have this shot of the inside of a tulip which really took on an alien quality when I pushed the saturation to the outer limits. So I think this qualifies as a two-fer!
Mad 4 May word: Star Wars (May the fourth be with you)
Merry Month of May Flowers: Anything floral
It fits in, and wow, these colors are awesome. Ann, I wanted to ask you about the Hawk Mountain trip we are planning. Is there any weekend that will not work for you? We were thinking possibly trying to head that way either the end of May or the first weekend in June.
@digitalrn Thanks Rick- The last week end in May is a very slight maybe- but (Sat.) June the first is excellent. June 2 (Sun.) there is a bagpipe concert at our church so that wouldn't work. I'm not sure if we will be visiting the grandkids or not in May- so I have to keep that open.
@httpgeffed hehe- we say that in the Presbyterian church too. (o: @vposey Thanks Vickie- Bulldog chose it, not me. I am not that sci-fi savvy but I did chuckle over it the first time I read it! @bernadette Thank you Bernadette! @taffy Thank you Taffy!
Nice shot, Ann! great processing, as well! Love the red! This also counts as abstract too because I would never have been able to tell what it was without you saying so!! Well done! :)
Thank you Cindy, Meg, Lisa, Jackie, Sally, Suze, Alia, Nicole, Dione, Jane, Henri, Bev, Laura, Phil, Caroline, and Jennifer!
Thanks to all for those enthusiastic affirmations of my departure from the Star Wars norm. Back in the day, I did go to the first movie and thoroughly enjoyed it- but never went to any of the subsequent releases. And now there's so much Star Wars spin-offs out there I wouldn't know how anything connects. So I just had fun with this one and I'm so glad you enjoyed the results!
@olivetreeann I will see if June 1st works. I will let you know. I don't think I have your e-mail address anymore, so if you have a chance, drop me an e-mail. Mine is in my bio. Thanks Ann
@digitalrn Just getting caught up with comments and such Rick: Olivetreeann@yahoo.com I will go to your bio and send it to you that way too. I guess it wouldn't hurt to put it in my bio as well!
Thank you ladies! I am WAY behind as the house has been turned upside down while our new wood floor goes in. Yes, the floor we began prepping for in March of 2011 is finally down!! But I do appreciate your thoughts and will do my best to catch up as the floor cures over the next week.

@nadaa Thank you Nada!
I pushed the saturation just on a whim and was really surprised by how vivid the color became- and believe me it was quite vivid to begin with!
@summerfield Thank you Vikki!
@wenbow Thank you Wendy!
