Photography Book Club 19

I'm a little behind on my reading, but that phrase, "a photographer captures the here and now" has really stuck in my brain. I'd gone out to help Jeff pile up some kindling and saw this broken mushroom lying on the ground. The thought crossed my mind to capture it in sepia on the railing of our deck. I like the way it contrasts with the knot in the wood. I added the vignette because I liked the way it finished the picture.
You have created a beautiful scene Ann and the sepia works so well.

Nicely done -- the juxtaposition of the mushroom and the wood grain is visually pleasing.

Thank you Nicole, Judith, Timothy, Kerri, Alia, Rick, Michael, Colleen, Sally, Donald, and Lisa! I'm glad you like the sepia- I really thought it would accent the textures to shoot it in that mode.

i would've liked to see more of the mushroom but that said, the textures at play here are incredible and of course, the monotone you have chosen incredibly complements the subjects quite well. wonderful capture, ann.
