Christopher's team started off with a decisive win last Friday. It's going to be a tough season with 2 of their best players out. But it was nice to start with a victory. At the end of the game the sun was setting on the field, stretching out the players' shadows as if to say, "There's a long season ahead of you so don't rest on your laurels too long!"
Freeman Patterson talked at length about the effect different lighting had on colors. I noticed how the natural back-lighting (a.k.a. the Golden Hour) gave the players a soft, gold tint, especially their jerseys and neon cleats. I also liked the way the shadows seem to double the size of the team!
So, I snapped a "team shot" with a twist.
I've got so many pictures to catch up with and to post! I'll take my cue from the tortoise- slow and steady wins the race- and try not to impatiently post everything all at once.
that's a beautiful shadow shot, ann. and yes, the cleats seem to glisten with the sunlight on them. lovely processing, of course. are you caught up with your submissions?
Great shot, Ann! Love the colors and the lighting and the shadows. It does make the jerseys and the boots (I've gotten so used to British terms!!!) really pop. Well done!
Thank you one and all! I'm having a hard time getting back into the swing of things! I'm totally off my 365 game- taking photos but lagging in the catching up department! But I'll take my own advice that I've given out before and do what I can as I can. Eventually it will all fall into place!
@eniaral We'll see how the year goes as to whether Christopher will want this picture or not. He's got mixed feelings about it right now.
@prttblues I had originally written "boots" but figured you and some of my international friends would be the only ones who knew what that meant!!
@summerfield I've decided on one (the family shot with Micah's head in Betsy and Christopher's hands) and am now going back and forth on 4 other suggestions. We can only submit 3 and I have plenty of time but I think next week I will finalize my selections and take them to get printed. I will be cleaning for Judy on Monday so I will have some cash to work with then.
