I went into Stroudsburg today to have the photos I've chosen to enter into competition printed and enlarged. While I was waiting for them to be done, I wandered around town and took the opportunity to search out some more Fall colors. I noticed some beautiful English Ivy growing on a wrought iron fence and amongst its green leaves was this little stand out. Believe it or not, this is not a picture with selective coloring and it's basically sooc. I think because I was shooting in the shade, the deep green leaves look naturally dull against the yellowing leaf. Even the ivy is getting into Autumn this year!
@digitalrn Thank you Rick! @tuya Thank you Claire! @httpgeffed Thank you Colleen- but it's not selective coloring. It is sooc. The explanation is under the picture. @kerristephens Thank you Kerri! @alia_801 Thank you Alia! I was surprised to see it upload that way. @dakotaburns Thank you Donald! It was very eye catching. @archaeofrog Thank you Katie! It does fool you, doesn't it? But you can see a little hint of the greener leaves @prttblues Thank you Bev- but this is not selective coloring. It's sooc. The explanation is under the picture.
The natural contrast is lovely, Anne. You did really well on this sooc capture & it makes such a pretty picture. Basically I the same thing with the magnolia pod I captured last week, except I lightened the background a tad.
@sarasdadandmom Thanks Terry! @twr Thanks Timothy! @sangwann Thanks Dione! It's not selective coloring- the leaves are naturally that way. @bkbinthecity Thanks Brian! @cimes1 Thanks Carole! I remember that shot- it was really pretty. @la_photographic Thanks Laura! @espyetta Thanks Marybeth! It really did stand out.
@pandorasecho Thanks Dixie and good point! I'm not really sure how this worked out this way because when I saw it, I saw more green but I guess the fact that it was in a shady area "tricked" the camera to read it with less color. Anyway I sure liked how it turned out!
I really like Ivy. We have a Virginia Creeper growing along one side of our house and I love how it makes the garden come alive when the loves come back in the Spring
@nicolecampbell Thank you Nicole! I've tried to get some started in my front gardens but the dirt here is terrible. Maybe next year, I'll trying adding some more manure or additives to beef it up a bit. I'm sure your Virginia Creeper looks really pretty!
@tuya Thank you Claire!

Thank you Vikki- I think it had mostly to do with the lighting. But no matter what the cause, it worked to the advantage of the shot.
Thank you Henri!
