Some of the ladies of our church gathered together this evening to hear one of our members speak on the symbolism and meaning of our stained glass windows, a topic she's studied for many years now. It was a wonderful time to be together and so many of us have a renewed appreciation for the beautiful artwork in them. As I was leaving the meeting, I noticed the glow of the lights coming through some of the windows on the lower level. Although they do not contain the beautiful imagery of those in our sanctuary, they still offer a warm glow of welcome when the lights are lit inside.
this looks pretty. you know, it's a pity that Christmas season has to come during the winter season because i had wanted or had aimed to shoot church windows at night. they're beautiful when the lights inside are on and make windows as simple as this so magical. then of course there are the Ukrainian churches with intricate stained glass windows!
@summerfield Thanks Vikki! Yes, there are so many windows with a number of styles. These windows are on the lower level of the church, so they are not as elaborate. The upstairs windows have more color and certainly more detail. But the sanctuary was unlit, so this is what you get!
