Great catch, Ann! The detail of the feather is perfect! It looks so soft and fluffy!! I am being a bad girl ATM... I took my sling off and am commenting on as many photos as I can. The arm hurts quite badly, but I am wanting to let you all know how much I love your photos. My photos are missing yours (and others) comments, but understand that things get busy for everyone. I just want you to know you haven't been forgotten. I can't believe that I have yet another health issue. Back, eye and now shoulder (right one this time, not left, so the mouse is hard to maneuver -scrolling is out of the question)... grrrrr ....... Time to put sling back on... will catch up. I promise!!! Love this shot. Well done, Ann :)
Thank you to one and all! It's been so frigid cold here that even the birds seem to be laying low! But there's a heat wave on the way. They say tomorrow will reach a high of 28F and Friday a whopping 30! I hate to burst the weatherman's bubble, but neither of them is above freezing!! lol
@prttblues I've been getting so many comments lately I've been focusing on replying to them all- but even a quick hi on one of my shots will nudge me to catch up on yours! I'm sorry your arm is still on the blitz- don't put in jeopardy with long comments on my pics- a short one is all I need!
A wonderful shot of the feather. any idea from what kind of bird? I hope he is warm enough without it. I went back into last year and looked at some pictures and read some comments. I didn't find any where we were complaining about being so tired of the winter already in January and still more frigid weather to come.
@bruni Thanks Bruni! Oh, it's definitely worse this year- no question!! I think this is either from a Nuthatch or Tufted Titmouse. I'm leaning towards the latter even though this looks a little browner than the gray usually associated with the Titmouse, there are some of these colorings on their underbelly.
@olivetreeann When I read your comment I was thinking of the underbelly feathers. to me it looks like one. since I've never seen a Titmouse, I take your word for it.

And the Tufted Titmouse is in the center picture on the right of this collage:
