A.K.A. Square Bear. Today's September word was red and I had something in mind but my day had other plans!
I was supposed to go to the Farmer's Market (where I had plans to find something red to photograph) but I was so exhausted from two very jam-packed days (photos to follow) that my "get up and go" never got started. So...
I continued working on a presentation I will be making on the 24th this month and before I knew it, the afternoon (which I was going to spend on 365) had disappeared. But...
I was excited because I've been waiting over a month to attend a night photography workshop sponsored by our photo club. I have even purchased a wide-angle lens for the occasion and was really looking forward to the instructions on how to use it. As I was putting the last few pieces of gear into my camera bag, I looked out the back window and a bear was walking by! In spite of the fact I should be leaving, I grabbed my Powershot and took two quick shots- both of which were a bust! Oh well, I was more interested in star shots anyway! So....
Into the car I go and I'm off! Traffic wasn't bad, things were good and I'd stopped for a red light when all of a sudden... BAM!!
A young man driving a PT Cruiser did not see the break lights on my car, nor did he realize the cars in front of me were not moving and with the setting sun glaring in his eyes, he had managed to slow down but not come to a stop when he plowed into me. My bumper came off and it seems there could be some parts of the side panels that absorbed some impact but thankfully neither of us were hurt. However, it meant no night photography workshop. )o:
So, I am once again without a car. Hopefully it will get repaired quickly- as it just needs body work. And I do have some aches and pains tonight, but it could have been a lot worse! I'll see if I can get to the chiropractor on Monday.
How disappointing to have no star trail shots tonight! I couldn't even get the moon because just as I went out to photograph it, the moon decided to hide behind some clouds. So the blurry bear picture went through the processing ringer so that I could at least post something in red and in the square format!
Hopefully I'll be back tomorrow to catch up with all of you but for now- I'm off to rest my weary bones.
WOW was this a real bear. Nice processing. Sorry to hear about your car and missing your workshop not a good day for you hope things have improved as you go through the week.
Wow very cool processing Ann.............so sorry to hear about your accident and missing your photo meeting. Hope you have a speedy recovery and get your car back quickly!
So sorry to hear about your accident. I hope there will be no long term residual efects form it. Very thankful that you were not seriously hurt and I am so sorry you are without a car. That alone can really disrupt your life significantly.
CLever of you to ETSOOI this into something that meets so many challenges. unbelievable you have a bear in your back yard.
Thank you all for your well wishes and sympathies! I'm still pretty achy and sore but I'm hoping this will be my worst day and tomorrow I'll feel better. As it was Sunday we couldn't really make any progress on the car or info on what his insurance will provide me with. Here's hoping I can get a rental while I'm waiting for my car to be fixed. Then I can get a chiropractor to see about the sore spots. I hope to be back on more fully tomorrow night. Thanks again for all the views, comments and favs!
Very cool shot! Awesome colors. So sorry to hear about you missing the class and the damage to your car. Must of been so disappointing but glad no one was hurt.
@cjphoto Thanks Chris- very disappointing but I've been promised a "refund" when the two fellows who ran this go out on their own for a night. Yes, I'm glad no one was hurt more seriously than the minor muscle aches and pains from the impact.

At least we got to see your bear, albeit slightly psychedelically!
