The Pocono Heritage Land Trust has 7 properties scattered around Monroe County. We visited one of them (the name of which is escaping me at the moment!) on the 13th of this month. This particular site has the remains of a home that was once owned by a local resort owner. It has fallen prey to the weather and vandals through the years but still has a lot left to photograph. I really liked the contrast between the fieldstones of the wall and the woods beyond. I debated processing this in black and white, but it really became too busy in monochrome. The low-key color brings out the textures better in my opinion!
I like the colours in the stone. Sometimes monochrome makes a photo less busy and sometimes more busy - strange eh? Anyway, some lovely stonework here.
An unusual photo that allows us to better view the subject in color than B&W but I agree with you. Your choice of keeping the color helps to delineate the house from the woods beyond and gives it added depth in this case
Thank you for your views and comments. I appreciated the feedback as this was one of those photos I was second guessing myself on!
