Circles for Warmth

Although we certainly don't need any extra warmth today!!! It's waiting to be split and stacked for heat this winter.

Two of my grandchildren arrive tomorrow for a 5 day visit! So I may be a little here and there over the next few days.
Can always use that in the Poconos – nice composition and processing

The sight of the cut trees scares me. I think we're cutting them out too much. Great processing. Have a nice time with your grandchildren.

@mittens @ninaganci @haskar

Thank you Marilyn, Nina, and Haskar!

@haskar Just to put your mind at ease- we do not go out and go down trees randomly. All of the wood you see here has been offered to us by people who know we heat our home with wood. Some of these trees- although they look good here- were dead, damaged by storms or insects, and basically "sick" but still useful for heat. Some of them had toppled in woods on private property and others were leaning dangerously towards falling on houses. I am right there with you on the concern of taking down too many trees. I have seen too many people take down trees in my community because they were in the wrong place for landscaping or they just didn't like them. That was not the case with these. And sadly in those cases where a tree was cut down just because the homeowner didn't like it, the wood often is left to rot. But this wood won't be discarded. It will go to good use!

@olivetreeann That's a very good idea, I don't know about them, never heard of one here except those that are used like an axe.

holy Moly! It made me ache to think of Jeff splitting all of that ! Good to know he has a splitter but it will still be lots of work.I know it will warm him twice too! Terrific shot for the category! Do you use only wood to heat with?
July 24th, 2020
Nice one for your theme. It should dry out well and be ready for burning by the time cold weather gets here.
July 24th, 2020
Lots of circles for sure! Neat shot.
July 24th, 2020
Certainly lots of cicles here - and good that you do not have to cut them by hand!
July 24th, 2020
@grammyn Thanks Katy- yes we do. We've been heating with wood now for 30 years (13 in our previous residence and 17 here)! All of it donated too.

@randystreat @edorreandresen @lmsa
Thank you Kathy, Dorre, and Louise!
