@grammyn (o; thank you Katy- honestly it depends. If I have an idea of what I want to do, then not too much time, but if I'm playing around with it, and/or looking for layers, the processing can take up to an hour. This one, not that long because I had the base shot (an image of a dictionary page with the definition of "word" and an idea of the color range I wanted to use. I ended up going in a different direction with that when I stumbled on an effect that added a great antique texture to the image- but turned it the colors you see here. So that stayed and then I remembered an image from years ago of some weights with the letter "M" on them. I thought they'd add another nice layer and they did, and then I thought about adding a layer of writing. After adding those layers, I had to take off and reapply the texture and with each layer I erased the effect from the word "word" from the dictionary page so it showed through. It sounds much more complicated than it really was!
