Looking Back at Irene

I didn't realize when I originally took this shot that the camera was still set for shooting candlelight, so it came out really dark. I was able to brighten it in Picnik, but you still can't really see the cables and phonelines all tangled up in the branches. The grounds crew has already cut off the part of the tree that was blocking the other half of the road. Even so, the car mirror makes for a nice frame to remember Irene really took a toll on us- all the way out in the Poconos!
Great reflection

I love this, Ann. It's such a neat way to look at something from a different POV. GREAT capture. And nice editing.

@mrssmith Thanks Carla! You should have seen me taking it! I'm sure if another driver had come along they would have thought I was a reporter or someone working for the cable company!
@kkauter Thanks Kerrie! So good to see you back!!!
@httpgeffed Thanks Colleen-lol about the hurricane part! @karenann Thank you Karenann- I was going to hop out of the car and take it, but then I thought it might look really good in the mirror. I was so upset with myself for not realizing the camera was set wrong, but in the end, it was another learning curve on processing.
@digitalrn Thanks Rick! I was glad to be able to fix it in Picnik.

I must say the picture is perfectly framed. and we see the damage that Irene left behind.

@bruni Thanks Bruni. It's hard for me to believe but an area in Vermont near where my dad lives was hit worse than we were! It was an incredible storm and will take a while to clean up after.
